Moonlight Escape is located about 15 minutes south of Laver’s Hill, along the Great Ocean Road. It is perfectly positioned as a base for exploring the wealth of attractions in the area.
To the west, along the Great Ocean Road lie the coastal towns of Apollo Bay and Lorne. Each in its way manages to blend country charm with urban sophistication. Great food and fantastic coffee abounds. The beaches offer everything from gentle surf safe for everyone, to the wild and beautiful surf beaches of Joanna.
To the west of Lavers Hill is the township of Port Campbell and the magnificent Twelve Apostles. The Shipwreck Coast, as it is known, is truly spectacular.
Other attractions include the beautiful forests of the Ottway Ranges. Many beautiful waterfalls and walks are located throughout this area. Increasing in popularity is the Great Ocean Walk, an ambitious project that has lead to the creation of a walking track that stretches from Princetown to Apollo Bay. The track, which can be explored in small manageable sections, gives unparalleled access to some of the most beautiful coastline in the world. Other notable tourist attractions include horse-riding, the Ottway Fly, and the Cape Ottway Lighthouse.
